Il tempo vola … ma non per Jane Zhang !

Sound of My Dream 2 ep. 8

L’ottava puntata di “Sound of My Dream 2” (梦想的声音2) ci ha regalato quella che si può definire a pieno titolo l’interpretazione perfetta ! Jane Zhang, coach musicale dello show, ha “portato in scena” un classico moderno della cultura musicale cinese: “Time Flies So Fast“, anche conosciuta come “Where Did The Time Go ?” (时间都去哪儿了).

Il brano scelto da Jane

“Where Did The Time Go ?” fu composta nel 2009 come sigla di chiusura per lo sceneggiato televisivo “Conflicts in Lao Niu’s Family” (老牛家的战争).

Due anni più tardi entrò a far parte del fortunato album musicale “The Choice of Love” (爱的自选), noto sul mercato internazionale come “Selected Love Hits” di Reno Wang (王铮亮) pubblicato il 9 maggio del 2001 e del quale costituisce la traccia n. 5. Successivamente il brano fu inserito da Reno in altri 2 suoi album: “Time to Hear” (听得到的时间) del 2012 e “Story Island” (故事岛) del 2015.

La canzone vinse il premio “Song of the Year” nel 2014 alla prima edizione del QQ Music Festival. Ad oggi risulta uno dei brani più popolari e commoventi della moderna cultura musicale cinese e sono tantissime le cover realizzate per questo pezzo.

Il tempo scorre inesorabile

Nel testo del brano (“Where Did The Time Go ?“) una madre ormai anziana tira le somme della propria vita e si chiede come sia andato via il suo tempo senza aver nemmeno vissuto la propria giovinezza. La sua vita l’ha trascorsa crescendo ed accudendo i figli per poi ritrovarsi all’improvviso a riflettere su cosa le sia rimasto ed a non vedere altro che un viso pieno di rughe.

Come con un salto nel tempo la donna ritorna giovane (“Young and Beautiful“) ma avverte comunque l’inesorabile scorrere della propria vita e, rivolgendosi al suo uomo, gli chiede se lui la amerà ancora quando lei non sarà più giovane e bella.

Queste parole hanno il potere di toccare il cuore di ognuno ma soprattutto quello di ogni figlio che ne trae spunto per riflettere sui sacrifici compiuti dai propri genitori affinché lui avesse un futuro. E proprio quel futuro ricevuto in dono spesso porta il figlio lontano dal proprio padre e dalla propria madre.

E’ questo ad esempio il destino di un artista e Jane ne è consapevole. Dunque è concretamente possibile che durante l’interpretazione Jane abbia pensato a sua madre.

Jane e Reno

Reno Wang fa parte della scuderia dei cantanti prodotti da Jane, ma ancor prima di ciò è il suo miglior amico di lunga data. I due si conobbero e diventarono amici quando Jane era una giovane ragazza che per guadagnare cantava nei pub di Chengdu.

La coppia Jane e Reno ha al suo attivo numerosi duetti, concerti e trasmissioni televisive. Ascoltandoli non si può non pensare che siano nati per cantare insieme.

Le musiche di “Where Did The Time Go ?” sono di Dong DongDong (董鼕鼕) compositore di colonne sonore per cinema e televisione, mentre il testo è di Chen Xi (陳曦), nota anche come Cicidodo (https://www.instagram.com/cicicidododo). I due sono marito e moglie ed erano in studio durante l’esibizione di Jane.

L’interpretazione di Jane

La versione che abbiamo ascoltato nella puntata del 22 dicembre è stata ri-arrangiata da Jane che vi ha inserito degli intermezzi nei quali canta in inglese strofe dal brano “Young and Beautiful“, originariamente interpretato da Lana Del Rey nella colonna sonora del film “Il Grande Gatsby” del 2013.

Le transizioni tra i due pezzi sono state sapientemente enfatizzate da un mirabile gioco di fasci di luce colorata alle spalle di Jane, e questo mi offre lo spunto per complimentarmi con i realizzatori di Sound of My Dream 2 perché la regia, come le luci e la scenografia e, non ultimo il comparto musicale, orchestra, coro e tecnici del suono, sono quanto di meglio possa esserci sul panorama televisivo internazionale.

A tutto ciò si aggiunge l’abito di Jane, un abito stile classico firmato LINDER长裙 in tessuto pesante color beige con righe marroni e maniche lunghissime che, unito alle extension dei capelli che con il calore cambiano colore diventando bianchi, fornivano il quadro interpretativo perfetto per questo pezzo.

Audience scioccata

Con questa interpretazione Jane ha scioccato tutti: pubblico, colleghi coach e giuria.
Commentando la performance della Dolphin Princess, Sandy Lam (林憶蓮) ha detto:

Jane ha completamente catturato l’essenza di questa canzone, la sicurezza della donne, la consapevolezza della tristezza vissuta nel presente, l’ansia, la sensazione di essere tagliati da un coltello. Questa è la perfezione assoluta ! Ci vuole un applauso !

JJ Lin (林俊杰), invece, commentando scherzosamente:

Le luci e la musica si sono fuse insieme ! Jane, sei la guardiana della luce !

e poi, tornando serio:

Ora posso dire di aver ascoltato il canto del delfino !

Dong DongDong, il compositore del brano ha dichiarato:

Jane oggi ha messo tutto il suo cuore nell’interpretazione. Quando qualcosa la tocca a livello emozionale o stuzzica la sua creatività lei mette tutta se stessa nelle sue interpretazioni. Io penso che Jane sia grande non come la Terra ma come l’intero Universo. Jane voglio ringraziarti per aver sublimato la canzone. Grazie davvero Jane !
